Orchard runs a comprehensive travel advice service.
Prior to booking an appointment, patinets MUST COMPLETE a travel form, which you can get from reception or download here. You will need to return the completed form to the surgery BEFORE you are able to make an appointmnet with Kate, our travel nurse. The form allows our nursing tream to ensure that your individual requirments are assessed and documented, and to prepare for your appointment.
Once you have returned the completed travel form to our reception team, you should wait a week before phoning the surgery to check if you are able to make your appointment(s). You must ensure that you allow sufficient time so that you book your appointment for travel immunisation no less than 3 weeks prior to the date of travel. If you are not able to provide sufficient notice, we will not be able to book an appointmnet for you.
Some immunisations require several doses to be effective, so you may require more than 4 weeks notice for them to work properly. The best advice is to allow as long as possible between making your appointment and your date of travel. Some immunisations are free, and others incur a cost, so please be prepared for this and bring either cash or cheque to cover any costs.
