Patient Participation Group

The object, for which the Orchard Practice Patients Participation group is established, is to work with the Practice Medical Centre Team to promote the highest possible standard of medical care. The aim of the Group is to act as a communication channel between the Practice Medical Centre team and the community in order to help patients use facilities to the best advantage and the practice to implement policies influenced by representative patient views. A copy of the group’s constitution is posted on the PPG website page.

The group consists of a committee of four officers – A chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer – Local Group Representatives and up to six other Committee members nominated and elected annually. The Committee endeavors to meet not less than four times annually between one AGM in the Orchard Practice reception area, with meetings starting at 7.00 p.m. The Committee presents at each Annual General Meeting a report of the activities of the Group and its own proceedings during the previous year. The dates of forthcoming meetings and copies of the minutes of each meeting are posted on the PPG website page.

Membership of the group is open and free of charge to all patients and staff of the Practice. The group is keen for new members to join and if interested, please contact the current Chairperson, by asking for further details at reception.
